Psalms 97 – 99
Psalms 97: 1 – 7
Though many have been made happy in CHRIST, still there is room. And all have reason to rejoice in CHRIST’s government. There is a depth in HIS counsels, which we must not pretend to fathom; but still righteousness and judgment are the habitation of HIS throne. CHRIST’s government, though it might be matter of joy to all, will yet be matter of terror to some; but it is their own fault that it is so. The most resolute and daring opposition will be baffled at the presence of the LORD. And the LORD JESUS will not take much long to come, and put an end to idol worship of every kind.
OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Kings 17: 1 – 23
2 Kings 17: 13
The prophets.
Israel rejected GOD’s prophets, those who spoke against sin and called for repentance and obedience to the LORD’s Word and statutes. They rejected the ministries of Elijah, Elisha, Amos, Hosea and other prophets. The refusal to hear and obey GOD’s Word, along with the spurning of prophetic message against sin and evil are unmistakable signs of apostasy.
NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
Mark 14: 32 – 50
Mark 14: 37
Watch one hour.
Peter and the disciples neglected to keep watch and pray, the only that could have saved them from failure at this time of testing. Failure in our Christian life is absolutely certain without prayer.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of world’s history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
