Psalms 92 – 94
Psalms 92: 1 to 6
It is a privilege that we are admitted to praise the LORD, and hope to be accepted in the morning, and every night; not only on Sabbath days, but every day; not only in public, but in private, and in our families. Let us give thanks every morning for the mercies of the night, and every night for the mercies of the day; going out, and coming in, let us bless GOD. As HE makes us glad, through the works of HIS providence for us, and of HIS grace in us, and both through the great work of redemption, let us hence be encouraged. As there are many who know not the designs of Providence, nor care to know them, those who through grace do so, have the more reason to be thankful. And if distant views of the great Deliverer so animated believers of old, how should we abound in love and praise!
OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Kings 16: 1 – 20
2 Kings 16: 1 – 9
Few and evil were the days of Ahaz.
Those whose hearts condemn them, will go anywhere in a day of distress, rather than to GOD. The sin was its own punishment. It is common for those who bring themselves into straits by one sin, to try to help themselves out by another.
NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
Mark 14: 22 – 31
Mark 14: 24
Blood of the new covenant.
CHRIST’s blood was shed for us in order to bring us forgiveness and salvation. HIS death on the cross established a new covenant between GOD and all who receive CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOUR. Those who repent and turn to GOD through faith in CHRIST will be forgiven, be delivered from the power of satan, receive new spiritual life, and made children of GOD, be baptised with the HOLY SPIRIT, and have access to GOD at any time in order to receive mercy, grace strength and help.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of world’s history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
