Psalms 16: 5
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup.
The inheritance and cup are the LORD HIMSELF. An important aspect of our inheritance as New Testament believers is the following- If a man love ME, he will keep MY words , and MY FATHER will love him, and WE will come unto him, and make OUR abode with him. Communion with GOD is the sure source of blessings and happiness.

The brook dried up.
When the brook dried up, GOD directed Elijah to go to a pagan territory inhabited by Baal worshipers, and there GOD provided Elijah through the poor widow. The experience further strengthened Elijah’s confidence in GOD’s providence, Sometimes adversity occurs even though we are in GOD’s will, through such experience He may help us in a different and greater way than we had expected.

Mark 3: 15
Power… to cast out devils.
In coming to earth JESUS purpose was to destroy the works of the devil and release those oppressed by satan and sin. JESUS gave His followers power and authority to continue His battle against the forces of darkness. This truth is recorded. JESUS appointed 12 disciples. He gave them power over all the powers of the enemy. Also to manifest the kingdom’s rule, driving out demons, healing every kind of disease and sickness. After resurrection JESUS reemphasized to His followers their task of preaching the gospel and their authority over Satan and His demons.
