Psalms 83 – 85
Psalms 83: 1 to 8
Sometimes GOD seems not to be concerned at the unjust treatment of His people. But then we may call upon Him, as the psalmist here. All wicked people are GOD’s enemies, especially wicked persecutors. The LORD’s people are His hidden one; the world knows them not. He takes them under His special protection. Do the enemies of the church act with one consent to destroy it, and shall not the friends of the church be united? Wicked men wish that there might be no religion among mankind. They would gladly see all its restraints shaken off, and all that preach, profess, or practise it, cut off. This they would bring to pass if it were in their power. The enemies of GOD’s church have always been many: this magnifies the power of the LORD in preserving to Himself a church in the world.
OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Kings 13: 1 – 25
2 Kings 13: 14
Elisha was fallen sick.
Elisha through whom GOD had performed many wonderful miracles, eventually succumbed to a fatal illness. Reality dictates that great people of faith die, and ironically death sometimes comes through sickness even to those who have themselves had a healing ministry. Among the universal consequences of the fall of Adam and Eve are sickness and death, not even prophet was exempt from sickness at the time of his death.
NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
Mark 13: 1 – 13
Mark 13: 5
Take heed Jesus Olivet discourse contains repeated warnings that, as the end draws near, His people must be on constant alert to the danger of religious deception. JESUS admonishes, Take heed, take heed to yourselves watch and pray, watch ye therefore. These warnings indicate that many unbiblical teachings will be prominent among the churches. The believer more than ever must know and obey the Word of GOD.
