Psalms 136 to 138
Psalms 136: 10 – 22
The great things GOD did for Israel, when he brought them out of Egypt, were mercies which endured long to them and our redemption by CHRIST, which was typified thereby, endures for ever. It is good to enter into the history of GOD’s favours and in each to observe and own that, his mercy endureth for ever. He put them in possession of a good land; it was a figure of the mercy of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
Isaiah 29: 1 – 14
Isaiah 29: 5 – 8
Thy strangers.
Although terrible judgement was coming upon Jerusalem, it would not involve total destruction. GOD would deliver His people and destroy Jerusalem’s enemies. Isaiah’s description likely refers to their deliverance from Assyria during Sennacherib’s invasion unfortunately, even this miracle if GOD did not accomplish a thorough repentance and true obedience in His people, thus a more devastating judgement came later, during the Babylonian invasions.
NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
Luke 1: 26 – 45
Luke 1: 38
According to THY WORD.
Mary submitted herself completely to the will of GOD and trusted HIS message. She willingly accepted the honour and the reproach that being the mother of the Holy child would bring.
Love for GOD, faith in HIS WORD and a willingness to obey the HOLY SPIRIT.
