Solomon loved many strange women.
Chapter 11 describes Solomon’s spiritual decline and its results. Solomon began as a man who loved the LORD, walked according to HIS statutes and built HIS temple. He experienced GOD’s love, grace and salvation, he was given special spiritual understanding and he wrote Holy Scriptures under the inspiration of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Jeremiah the prophet.
Matthew here combines and summarises elements of prophetic symbolism, one from Jeremiah 32: 6–9 and one from Zachariah 11: 12–13. Then he mentions the older and more prominent prophet as the source, a custom frequently used in alluding to passages from the prophets.
