Psalms 40 and 41

Psalms 41: 1
Blessed is he that considereth the poor.

GOD has a special concern for the weak and helpless, and HE blesses those who show loving kindness to the needy. If we have shared GOD’s pity for those in need, we can pray with confidence that GOD will deliver us when we are in trouble, protect us from harm, bless our lives, destroy the power of satan and our enemies, and give us HIS presence and healing when we are sick.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Kings 1: 1 – 18

2 Kings 1: 10
There came down fire from heaven.

The king and his soldiers, in rebellion against GOD and HIS word, sought to arrest Elijah. The fire came directly by GOD’s hand as a judgement against Ahaziah, who had stubbornly persisted in opposing GOD and His prophets.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
Mark 7: 9 – 23

Mark 7: 20 – 23
The heart of men.

In this passage, defileth means defiled spiritually because of sins that come from the heart. The heart in Scripture is the totality of intellect, emotion and desire.
An impure heart will corrupt one’s thoughts, feelings, words and actions. What is needed is a new, transformed heart, refashioned after the image of CHRIST.
