PSALMS
🎼
Psalms 106: 19 – 48 and 107: 1 – 22

Psalms 107: 1 – 9
In these verses there is reference to the deliverance from Egypt, and perhaps that from Babylon: but the circumstances of travellers in those countries are also noted. It is scarcely possible to conceive the horrors suffered by the hapless traveller, when crossing the trackless sands, exposed to the burning rays of the sun. The words describe their case whom the LORD has redeemed from the bondage of satan; who pass through the world as a dangerous and dreary wilderness, often ready to faint through troubles, fears, and temptations. Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, after GOD, and communion with HIM, shall be filled with the goodness of His house, both in grace and glory.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Kings 19: 25 – 20: 11

2 Kings 19: 35
The angel of the LORD.
Judah’s miraculous deliverance from the Assyrians is one of the great redemptive moments in Old Testament history recorded. The most powerful political kingdom on earth stood against the little nation of Judah. When defeat seemed inevitable GOD intervened and delivered His people in mercy. GOD manifested HIS willingness to renew the covenant and to be Judah’s GOD and Protector of the people would place their trust in HIM.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
Mark 15: 33 – 47
We are here attending the burial of our LORD JESUS.
Oh that we may by grace be planted in the likeness of it! Joseph of Arimathea was one who waited for the kingdom of GOD. Those who hope for a share in its privileges, must own CHRIST’s cause, when it seems to be crushed. This man GOD raised up for HIS service. There was a special providence, that Pilate should be so strict in his inquiry, that there might be no pretence to say JESUS was alive. Pilate gave Joseph leave to take down the body, and do what he pleased with it. Some of the women beheld where JESUS was laid, that they might come after the Sabbath to anoint the dead body, because they had not time to do it before. Special notice was taken of CHRIST’s sepulchre, because HE was to rise again. And HE will not forsake those who trust in HIM, and call upon HIM. Death, deprived of its sting, will soon end the believer’s sorrows, as it ended those of the SAVIOUR.
