Psalms 25 to 28
Psalms 25: 15 β 22
The psalmist concedes, as he began, with expressing dependence upon GOD, and desire toward HIM. It is good thus to hope, and quietly to wait for the salvation of the LORD. And if GOD turns to us, no matter who turns from us, HE pleads his own integrity. Though guilty before GOD, yet, as to his enemies, he had the testimony of conscience that he had done them no wrong. GOD would, at length, give Israel rest from all their enemies roundabout. In heaven, GOD’s Israel will be perfectly βredeemed from all troubles. Blessed SAVIOUR, thou hast graciously taught us that without thee we can do nothing. Do THOU teach us how to pray, how to appear before THEE in the way which THOU shalt choose, and how to lift up our whole hearts and desires after THEE, for THOU art the LORD our righteousness.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Deuteronomy 4: 15 β 40
Deuteronomy 4: 29
With all thy heart…thy soul.
To find GOD and know HIM in HIS fullness, a person must seek HIM with passion and wholehearted devotion. Knowing GOD and experiencing the power, blessing and righteousness of HIS kingdom do not come easily, that will happen only to those who diligently seek GOD and desire HIS nearness, the fullness of HIS SPIRIT and HIS gift of eternal life.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Romans 3: 27 β 4: 6
Romans 3: 31
We establish the law.
Salvation in CHRIST does not mean that the law has no value. In fact justification by faith upholds the law according to its right purpose and function. Through reconciliation with GOD and through the regenerating work of the HOLY SPIRIT, the believer becomes capable of honouring and obeying God’s moral law.
