What is JESUS saying here?
HE is calling for truth and honesty in our behaviours and interactions. These days it has become easier to say one thing and do entirely another thing. Some think that it is being clever. Others think it is being dishonest. It means being positive to oneself and to others. Sometimes telling the truth hurts but it is being honest. How I wish we tell the truth from the pulpits, from the rostrums of the courts of law and in business enterprises. One of the Ten Commandments is not to tell lies. The doctors need to tell the patient truth of the disease. We need to be transparent in all our dealings. Then the community and society will be clean, just and honest.
