Psalms 94
O LORD GOD, to whom vengeance belongeth.
Believers should be so grieved because of all the injustice, brutality and wickedness in the world that they pray continually for GOD to stop the triumph of evil and avenge the wrong. JESUS states that HIS elect should cry day and night that GOD will avenge them speedily. Commitment to justice and sympathy for those who are wrongfully treated should cause us to pray for the return of CHRIST that HE might rule the earth in righteousness.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Micah 6: 9 β 7: 6
Micah 7: 1 β 7
Woe is me!
Micah laments the corruption of the society in which he lived. Violence, dishonesty and immorality ran rampant in Israel. Few people were really godly, and family love had nearly disappeared. If we are truly committed to the LORD and HIS ways, we will also mourn over the evil that is so prevalent around us. We will intensify our intercession and pray for the intervention of GOD our SAVIOUR.
NEW TESTAMENT
βοΈ
Revelation 17: 15 β 18: 3
Revelation 17: 15 β 18
GOD so ruled the hearts of these kings, by HIS power over them, and by HIS providence, that they did those things, without intending it, which HE purposed and foretold. They shall see their folly, and how they have been bewitched and enslaved by the harlot and be made instruments in her destruction. She was that great city which reigned over the kings of the earth, when John had this vision; and everyone knows Rome to be that city. Believers will be received to the glory of the LORD, when wicked men will be destroyed in a most awful manner; their joining together in sin, will be turned to hatred and rage, and they will eagerly assist in tormenting each other. But the LORD’s portion is His people; HIS counsel shall stand, and HE will do all HIS pleasure, to HIS glory, and the happiness of all His servants.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
