Psalms 78: 1 β 39
Psalms 78: 5
They should make them known to their children…
Teaching our children the godly principles and precepts of GOD’s Word is not optional, it is a commandment. GOD has given to His people what HE commands and gives us grace to teach and fulfil those commandments.β
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Numbers 20: 1 β 21
Numbers 20: 12
Ye shall not bring this congregation into the land.
Moses was forbidden to lead GOD’s people into Canaan because he had not carefully followed the LORD’s command. Moses was the spiritual leader of GOD’s people, the one through whom GOD gave the law. His responsibility was to obey the Word of the law. His responsibility to obey the Word of the LORD was greater because of his greater position and influence. Moses’s sin was twofold first, he spoke rashly by smiting the rock twice in anger rather than speaking to it as GOD had instructed.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Acts 28: 11 β 31
Acts 28: 16
We came to Rome.
It had been Paul’s desire to preach the gospel in Rome and also it was the will of GOD that he do so. Yet Paul arrived in Rome in chains and only after setbacks, storms, shipwrecks, and many trials. Though Paul remained faithful, GOD did not make his way easy and trouble-free. Likewise, we may be in GOD’s will and entirely faithful to HIM, nevertheless, HE may direct us on unpleasant paths involving troubles. Yet we can know that all things work together for good to those that love GOD.

Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
