Psalms 6 to 9
Psalms 7: 1
In THEE do I put my trust.
Those who have sincerely committed themselves to GOD may with all confidence take refuge in the LORD and commit their life situations to HIM. In the midst of unjust or troublesome times, we may place ourselves under the protection of GOD and appeal to HIM on the basis of our faithfulness and righteousness.β
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Numbers 3: 33 β 51
Numbers 3: 40 β 51
The number of the first-born, and that of the Levites, came near to each other.
Known unto GOD are all HIS works beforehand; there is an exact proportion between them, and so it will appear when they are compared together. The small number of first-born, over and above the number of the Levites, were to be redeemed, and the redemption money was given to Aaron. The church is called the church of the firstborn, which is redeemed, not as they were, with silver and gold; but, being devoted by sin to the justice of GOD is ransomed with the precious blood of the SON of GOD. All men are the LORD’s by creation, and all true Christians are HIS by redemption. Each should know his own post and duty; nor can any service required by such a Master be rightly accounted mean or hard.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Acts 14: 19 β 15: 11
Acts 15: 8
GOD, which knoweth the hearts.
GOD’s knowledge of the hearts of the Gentiles (Cornelius and his household) refers to HIS seeing- saving faith within them. GOD testified to the genuineness of their faith by cleansing their hearts with the inward work of regeneration by the HOLY SPIRIT and by Baptizing them in the SPIRIT immediately afterwards, with the accompanying sign of speaking in tongues.

Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
