PSALMS
🎼
Psalms 136; 137: 1 – 6 and 138
Psalms 136: 1 – 9
Forgetful as we are, things must be often repeated to us.
By “mercy” we understand the LORD’s disposition to save those whom sin has rendered miserable and vile, and all the provision He has made for the redemption of sinners by JESUS CHRIST. The counsels of this mercy have been from everlasting, and the effects of it will endure forever, to all who are interested in it. The LORD continues equally ready to show mercy to all who seek it, and this is the source of all our hope and comfort.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Chronicles 3: 1 – 4: 10
2 Chronicles 3
There is a more particular account of the building of the temple in 1 Kings 6.
It must be in the place David had prepared, not only which he had purchased, but which he had fixed on by Divine direction. Full instructions enable us to go about our work with certainty and to proceed therein with comfort. Blessed be GOD, the Scriptures are enough to render the man of God thoroughly furnished for every good work. Let us search the Scriptures daily, beseeching the LORD to enable us to understand, believe, and obey his Word, that our work and our way may be made plain, and that all may be begun, continued, and ended in HIM. Beholding GOD, in CHRIST, His true Temple, more glorious than that of Solomon’s, may we become a spiritual house, a habitation of GOD through the SPIRIT.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝
John 14: 27 – 15: 8
John 15: 4
Abide in me.
After a person believes in CHRIST and is forgiven, he or she receives eternal life and the power to remain in CHRIST. Given that power, the believer must then accept the responsibility for salvation and remain in CHRIST. The Greek word meno means to remain, continue, abide or live. Just as the branch has life only as long as the life of the vine flows into it, so believers have CHRIST’s life only as long as CHRIST’s life flow into them through their remaining in CHRIST.
