Psalms 57; 58 and 59: 1 β 4 & 9 β 17
Psalms 57: 7
Psalm 57 is attributed to King David, who wrote it while hiding in a cave after fleeing from King Saul.
The psalm reflects David’s belief that GOD is faithful, reliable, and a source of comfort and strength. It also reminds us that GOD’s love is the foundation for our faith and that we can trust in HIM even when life is difficult.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Malachi 2: 1 β 17
Malachi 2: 9
Have been partial in the law.
The priests were showing partiality to the rich and influential, allowing them to continue in their unjust and sinful ways and failing to confront them with GOD’s word of warning. Pastoral leaders must preach the whole counsel of GOD proclaiming His righteous demands to all the people. To preach the blessings of the LORD ALMIGHTY and omit HIS righteous requirements for us is an abomination to HIM.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Jude 1: 16 β 25
Jude 1: 20
Building up yourselves.
Believers must defend and propagate the faith and resist false teaching in four ways.
1. Building ourselves up in our most holy faith. The Holy Faith is the New Testament revelations handed down by CHRIST and the apostles
2. By praying in the Spirit. We must pray by the enabling power of the HOLY SPIRIT. By looking to the HOLY SPIRIT to inspire, guide energize and sustain.
3. By remaining in the sphere of GOD’s love for us.
4. By longing and waiting for the return of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
