Make me to understand the way of thy precepts. GOD’s Word can only be understood fully with His help, thus we should continually pray to God, through His Holy Spirit, to draw near to us, to increase our understanding and to teach us His truth.

The condition for establishing Solomon’s kingdom was a life of obedience and faithfulness to GOD. Solomon heeded hid father’s advice in the beginning but later departed from GOD.

They could not believe.
The people could not believe because their decisions about JESUS brought GOD’s action of hardening. The gospel never leaves unchanged the person who refuses to listen, repent and believe. The apostle Paul says that the people of Israel were broken off because of their unbelief. Yet the hardening was not permanent for every individual in that nation. Anyone who humbled himself or herself and believed would receive eternal life.
