PSALMS
🎼
Psalms 42 to 44
Psalms 44: 22
For thy sake, we are killed all the day.
The HOLY SPIRIT reveals that some suffering comes to GOD’s faithful people because they maintain loyalty to HIM in a hostile world.
The apostle Paul quotes this verse in Romans 8:36 to teach that all those who identify with CHRIST and refuse to conform to the evil world will undergo grief, persecution and suffering. At the same time, as GOD’s people are assured of victory through JESUS CHRIST, knowing that GOD is for us and that no adversity can separate us from HIS love.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
Jeremiah 23: 30 – 24: 10
Jeremiah 24: 1
Two baskets of figs.
The first basket of figs was considered to contain good figs, good in that GOD would purify them through the suffering of the exile. After their exile, they would be brought back into the land and would turn from idolatry to GOD with all their hearts. GOD would use them to accomplish HIS redemptive purpose in the world.
The second basket of figs represented King Zedekiah and those who remained in Jerusalem after that recent deportation, they would continue to oppose Jeremiah and his message and thus experienced the incredible horrors during the fall of Jerusalem in 586 B.C. bringing great disgrace.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝
Luke 15: 1 – 24
Luke 15: 7
Joy….in heaven
GOD and the angels in heaven have such love, compassion and grief for those who have fallen into sin and spiritual death that when one sinner repents, they openly rejoice In GOD’s love for sinners.
