Psalms 40 and 41
Psalms 41: 1
Blessed is he that considereth the poor.
GOD has a special concern for the weak and helpless, and HE blesses those who show loving kindness to the needy. If we have shared GOD’s pity for those in need, we can pray with confidence that GOD will deliver us when we are in trouble, protect us from harm, bless our lives, destroy the power of satan and our enemies, and give us HIS presence and healing when we are sick.β
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Numbers 9: 15 β 10: 10
Numbers 9: 15 β 23
Cloud…fire.
The cloud by day and the fire by night served as a sign of divine provision and protection and guidance for Israel in the wilderness. The Bible emphasizes that the people were to move or stay only as the supernatural sign indicated. However, GOD’s guidance did not eliminate the need for human wisdom and planning based on principles of HIS Word.
NEW TESTAMENT

Acts 20: 13 β 38
Acts 20: 19
With many tears.
Paul on several occasions mentions his serving the LORD with tears. In this address to the Ephesian elders, he speaks of daily warning them with tears for a period of three years. The tears were not the result of weakness, rather Paul saw the lost condition of the human race, the evil consequences of sin, and the distortion of the gospel and the peril of rejecting the LORD as such grave realities that his preaching was often accompanied by tears.
