PSALMS
π
Psalms 106: 19 β 107: 22
Psalms 107: 13
HE saved them out of their distresses.
Note that even when we have only ourselves to blame for our troubles, GOD desires to deliver us, thus even if we are experiencing great distress, knowing that GOD may be judging us, we can still put our hope in HIS mercy and cry out to HIM in faith for HIS forgiveness and help.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Habakkuk 3: 16 β 19 and Zephaniah 1: 1 β 3
Zephaniah 1: 2 & 3
Utterly consume all things.
Zephaniah begins by announcing GOD’s coming judgment on the entire world. Because most humankind will refuse to turn from their sins to the LORD. GOD has appointed a day when HE will destroy all the wicked as well as the world itself. It will be a time of distress, anguish, trouble and ruin.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Revelation 20: 11 β 21: 5
Revelation 21: 4
Wipe away all tears.
The effects of sin such as sorrow, pain, unhappiness and death are gone forever, for the evil things of the first heaven and earth have completely passed away. Believers will evidently not remember that which would cause them sorrow.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
