PSALMS
📓
Psalms 38 and 39
Psalms 38: 21
Be not far from me.

One terrible consequence of wilful sin is the loss of GOD’s fellowship and the sense of HIS presence. It is a grievous and bitter experience to commit wilful sin after knowing the mercy of GOD and the in dwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT.

OLD TESTAMENT
📓
Deuteronomy 31: 24 – 32: 6
Deuteronomy 31: 30
This song.

Moses song was designed to impress upon the Israelites that their existence was a result of GOD’s faithfulness and mercy. The LORD alone guided them and sustained them. Israel’s response, on the other hand, was in large measure one of wickedness and folly. The song concluded by warning Israel that future infidelity, rebellion and apostasy would bring GOD’s severe judgements on the nation.

NEW TESTAMENT

Colossians 2: 1 – 15
Colossians 2: 15
Spoiled principalities and powers.

CHRIST triumphed over satan by disarming all the demonic powers and authorities by HIS death on the cross. HE stripped them of their power to hold men and women captive to the dominion of evil against their will. The child of GOD shares in this triumph. We not only gain victory over the world and temptation, but we also possess in CHRIST the authority to wage war against the spiritual forces of evil.
