PSALMS
🎼
Psalms 38 and 39
Psalms 38: 21
Be not far from me.
One terrible consequence of wilful sin is the loss of GOD’s fellowship and the sense of HIS presence. It is a gracious and bitter experience to commit wilful sin after knowing the mercy of GOD and the indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
Deuteronomy 8: 1 – 20
Deuteronomy 8: 12 – 14
When thou hast eaten and art full thou forget the LORD THY GOD.
In times of prosperity and abundance people are inclined to become satisfied with life on earth as it is and to find their enjoyment in material blessings. Prosperity brings the temptation to forget GOD and HIS commandments, to no longer seek spiritual blessings, and to fail to grieve over the sin and evil in the world.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝
Romans 6: 1 – 14
Romans 6: 10
HE died unto sin.
Although CHRIST was sinless, HE suffered from and was humiliated by the power of sin for our sake. In HIS death, HE died to sin’s influence, in HIS resurrection, HE triumphed over its power. Likewise, those who are united with HIM in HIS death are freed from sin’s power to walk in the newness of life.
