Psalms 105: 23 β 45 and 106: 1 β 18 & 42 β 48
Psalms 105: 23 β 45
As the believer commonly thrives best in his soul when under the cross; so the church also flourishes most in true holiness, and increases in number, while under persecution. Yet instruments shall be raised up for their deliverance, and plagues may be expected by persecutors. And see the special care GOD took of his people in the wilderness. All the benefits bestowed on Israel as a nation were shadows of spiritual blessings with which we are blessed in CHRIST JESUS. Having redeemed us with HIS blood, restored our souls to holiness, and set us at liberty from Satanβs bondage, HE guides and guards us all the way. HE satisfies our souls with the bread of heaven, and the water of life from the Rock of salvation, and will bring us safely to heaven. HE redeems his servants from all iniquity, and purifies them unto Himself, to be a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Habakkuk 3: 1 β 15
Habakkuk 3: 16
GOD came.
In these verses Habakkuk refers to the time GOD delivered HIS people from Egypt. The same GOD who came with Salvation in the past would come again in all HIS glory. All who were waiting for that coming would live and see HIS triumph over empires and nations.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Revelation 20: 1 β 10
Revelation 20: 3
Deceive the nations no more.
The nations that will exist during the reign of CHRIST on earth are formed from those believers who are alive at the end of the tribulation. Although at times the term nations is used specifically of the ungodly John also uses it to represent the saved.
