Mercy and judgement.
This psalm pictures the kind of heart that the king of Israel must have if he desires to rule according to the will of GOD. The attitudes expressed in this psalm also apply to those who rule in the church.

The LORD preserved David wherever he went.
GOD desires to help, protect and give victory to His faithful people. As we search for strength from the LORD and seek HIS face continually, a channel of blessing is opened to our lives whereby GOD helps us in trouble gives us freedom from Satan’s power and leads us by HIS SPIRIT.β

Works of GOD …be made manifest.
JESUS corrects the disciplesβ erroneous belief that every serious affliction is the result of some sin. At times sickness does result from serious sin but not always.
Sometimes suffering is permitted because of the divine purpose to display GOD’s mercy, love and power. Often in the world, the innocent suffer when the wicked do not.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
