Psalms 147 and 148
We, in this dark and sinful world, know little of the heavenly world of light.
But we know that there is above us a world of blessed angels. They are always praising GOD, therefore the psalmist shows his desire that GOD may be praised in the best manner; also we show that we have communion with spirits above, who are still praising HIM. The heavens, with all contained in them, declare the glory of GOD. They call on us, that both by word and deed, we glorify with them the Creator and Redeemer of the universe.

1 Kings 14: 26
Took away the treasures of the house of the LORD.
GOD permitted Shishak, the king of Egypt, to invade the temple and carry away its treasures. The temple where GOD had manifested HIS Glory during Solomon’s early rule, became a scene of disgrace just five years after the death of Solomon, as GOD’s own people had cast aside HIS righteous ways.

Mark 1: 29 – 39
Wherever and CHRIST comes, he comes to do good.
HE cures, that we may minister to HIM, and to others who are HIS, and for HIS sake. Those kept from public ordinances by sickness or other real hindrances, may expect the SAVIOUR’s gracious presence; HE will soothe their sorrows, and abate their pains. Observe how numerous the patients were. When others speed well with CHRIST, it should quicken us in seeking after HIM. CHRIST departed into a solitary place. Though HE was in no danger of distraction, or of temptation to vain-glory, yet HE retired. Those who have the most business in public, and of the best kind, must yet sometimes be alone with GOD.
