Psalms 126: 1
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion.
This is a technical phrase that also means, When the LORD restored the prosperity of Zion. This restoration partially took place in when Sennacherib’s threat to take Jerusalem was turned back in fulfilment of prophecy and the surrounding nations sent presents to Hezekiah. The restoration was fulfilled in even greater measure when the Jews returned to Jerusalem from Babylon in 538 B.C.

While Solomon kept close to GOD and to his duty, there was no enemy to give him uneasiness; but here we have an account of two. If against us, he can make us fear even the least, and the very grasshopper shall be a burden. Though they were moved by principles of ambition or revenge, GOD used them to correct Solomon.

Pilate’s greatest sin was compromising what he knew to be true and right for the sake of position, status and personal gain. Pilate knew JESUS was innocent and declared HIM so on several occasions.
