Psalms 100; 101 and 102
Psalms 102: 25 and 26
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth?
These verses, quoted in Hebrews 1:10–12, imply that the experiences of trouble described by the psalmist apply to JESUS CHRIST as well as speak about the LORD’s kingdom on earth, HIS work in creation and HIS eternity. The present heavens and earth will be exchanged for a brand new heaven and the earth. But GOD will not change , HE remains the same.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Habakkuk 1: 1 β 11
Habakkuk 1: 2 β 4
How long shall I cry?
Habakkuk had been praying to GOD to stop the wrong he saw among the covenant people, yet GOD seemed to be doing nothing but tolerating violence, injustice and the destruction of the righteous. His questions dealt with the age-old theme. Why does GOD wait so long to punish evil and why are our prayers generally not answered quickly? Note, however, that these complaints came out of a heart of faith in a righteous GOD.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Revelation 18: 14 β 24
Revelation 18: 20
Rejoice over her.
All the glory in heaven and earth rejoice at GODβs righteous judgement on socioeconomic Babylon with its self-cantered affluence, humanistic government and godless commence. The exuberant celebration of the saints in heaven, described is proportionate to their present grief at the triumph of evil in this world. The true children of GOD will be distressed by the immoral conduct and injustices of evil around them. They will be tormented daily by the lawless deeds they see and about which they hear.
