Psalms 81 and 82
Psalms 81: 7
Israel is called to remember GOD’s incredible miracles on their behalf. As part of a feast day, the people are reminded of GOD’s intervention during the exodus from Egypt. Some of this speaks from GOD’s perspective. The psalm also notes that Israel responded to the LORD’s rescue with disobedience. GOD wants His chosen people to follow HIS will; they will suffer the consequences of their own choices if they don’t. To obey the LORD would bring Israel security and prosperity.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Micah 1: 1 β 16
Micah 1: 1
Micah, from Southern Judah, prophesied sometime between 750–687 B.C. He was a contemporary of Isaiah and Hosea. His message was directed mainly to Judah, though he also had a revelation concerning Israel. While Micah’s predominant theme was judgement, he also stressed the restoration of GOD’s people.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Revelation 14: 14 β 15: 4
Revelation 15: 1
Seven last plagues.
These plagues contain the final judgements of GOD upon the earth during the tribulation. They are called judgements of seven golden vials. The seven bowls of judgement may be the unfolding of the seventh trumpet judgement.
