Be not far from me.
One terrible consequence of wilful sin is the loss of GOD’s fellowship and the sense of His presence. It is grievous and bitter experience to commit wilful sin after knowing the mercy of GOD and the indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT.

High places.
These were elevated areas where idolatrous worship took place. GOD wanted His people to destroy these places completely lest they be led into such worship. The presence and temptation that the high places represented in the land testified to Judah’s lack of fervent love and loyalty to the LORD GOD and HIS covenant.

The same anointing teacheth you.
All children of GOD are given the “anointing” HOLY SPIRIT to help lead them into the truth. As we believers abide in CHRIST and submit to the Word of GOD, the SPIRIT helps us to understand its redemptive truths and draw upon its life.
