Psalms 147 and 148
Psalms 147: 6
The LORD lifts up the meek.
The word meek often includes the idea of suffering and refers to those who are afflicted because such people cannot cope with all of life’s problems and responsibilities by themselves. In humility, they call upon GOD for His help and strength. GOD lifts up the meek and gives them support. The psalmist assures them of GOD’s help and ultimate victory, as GOD supported the meeting in the Old Testament.β
JESUS ministers to the afflicted and humble under the new covenant. Since GOD delights in those who are of a humble spirit, all believers earnestly should pray for a spirit of humility so that they may please GOD.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
2 Chronicles 7: 1 β 22
2 Chronicles 7: 14
If my people…humble…pray …seek…turn.
When GOD’s four conditions for revival and restoration are met, then, GOD’s threefold promise of revival will be fulfilled. GOD will turn away his anger from his people, listen to their desperate cries and be attentive to their prayers.
The first evidence of revival is that GOD begins to hear and answer prayer from heaven and show compassion for his people.
NEW TESTAMENT

John 17: 1 β 19
John 17: 7
They have kept THY Word.
CHRIST’s prayer for protection, joy, sanctification, love and unity applies only to a particular people.
Those who belong to GOD believe in CHRIST and are separated from the world and obey the Word of CHRIST and accept HIS teachings.
