Psalms 92; 93 and 94
Psalms 92: 1
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises. Praise and thanksgiving to GOD are the basic elements in the believerβs life. We must thank the LORD morning and evening for salvation through HIS SON, JESUS, for HIS loving kindness and grace, and for HIS faithful guidance and care. We should express our gratitude for the Word of GOD and for HIS spiritual gifts. New Testament believers must give thanks in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.β
OLD TESTAMENT
π
1 Chronicles 15: 1 β 29
1 Chronicles 15: 12
Sanctify yourselves.
To do the work of the LORD, believers must sanctify or consecrate themselves, i.e. separate themselves from all that offends GOD and present themselves to HIM as instruments of righteousness.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
John 7: 37 β 8: 11
John 7: 38
As the scripture hath said.
JESUS referred to the “scriptureβ because it was the very Word of HIS FATHER and therefore the supreme authority for HIS life and teaching. Scripture is also for Christians, for GOD alone has the right to determine our standards of conduct. HE has chosen to exercise this authority by making HIS truth known in Scripture. The Bible, as GOD’s revelation, carries the same authority as if GOD Himself were speaking to us directly.β
