Psalms 60; 61 and 119: 161 β 176
Psalms 60: 1 β 12
O GOD, THOU hast cast us off…THOU hast been displeased…
David confesses that GODβs people suffered a defeat in battle because GOD withdrew HIS divine help and protection when they ceased to please HIM and do HIS will. The remedy for Israel in this tragic situation is to seek GOD earnestly in prayer and renew their fear of HIM. β
In the same manner, we who belong to the new covenant may experience spiritual defeat in our churches, families and personal lives because GODβs SPIRIT has been offended by our sin, our conformity to surrounding society, our pride or our forsaking the Biblical principles of truth and righteousness.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Numbers 14: 36 β 15: 16
Numbers 14: 43
The LORD will not be with you…
Despite their shallow repentance and momentary expression of trust in the promises of GOD, the Israelites ignored GODβs warning. They made the fatal mistake of believing they could possess the Promised Land without faith, trust, obedience and devoted fellowship with GOD.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Acts 24: 10 β 27
Acts 24: 14
The way…
Believers followed JESUS as the way. The New Testament Believers saw salvation in CHRIST not only as an experience to receive but also as a road to walk in faith and fellowship with JESUS.
We must walk that road to the end in order to enter the final salvation of the age to come.

Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
