Psalms 57; 58 and 59: 1 β 4 & 9 β 17
Psalms 58: 10
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance.
This verse expresses the joy and satisfaction that GOD’s people experience when evil is defeated and overthrown. Likewise, New Testament believers must desire and pray for the ultimate removal of all evil and for the establishment of GOD’s kingdom in the new heaven and earth.β
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Numbers 14: 11 β 35
Numbers 14: 13
Then the Egyptians shall hear it.
Moses is a classic example of a person so dedicated to the LORD that he is more concerned about GOD’s reputation than his own success and honour. When believers gratefully comprehend all that GOD has done for them through CHRIST, they too will desire above all to exalt the LORD and HIS glory and to keep HIS name from falling into reproach among unbelievers.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Acts 23: 25 β 24: 9
Acts 23: 25 β 35
GOD has instruments for every work.
The natural abilities and moral virtues of the heathens often have been employed to protect his persecuted servants. Even the men of the world can discern between the conscientious conduct of upright believers, and the zeal of false professors, though they disregard or understand not their doctrinal principles.
All hearts are in GOD’s hand, and those who are blessed who put their trust in HIM and commit their ways unto HIM.
