This psalm describes a time when the ungodly activity of the wicked is keenly felt by those committed to GOD and HIS righteousness in all ages. GOD’s people have experienced this, but in the last days of this age, these conditions will be especially prevalent. The faithful should know that when they are surrounded by the evils of society and are grieved and oppressed by the wicked and their immorality, they will ​ be specially protected by the power of GOD. GOD will keep them and preserve them from the evil generation forever.

Lest they die…
The holiness of GOD will either destroy or sanctify. GOD was teaching His people that HIS presence brings blessing if they obeyed and honoured, but judgement if they treated with irreverence or dishonour.

It seemed good to the HOLY GHOST.
The Jerusalem council was directed by the HOLY SPIRIT.
JESUS promised that the SPIRIT would guide His followers into all truth. Humans alone must not make decisions of the church, they must seek the SPIRIT’s guidance through prayer, fasting and commitment to GOD’s Word until HIS will is clearly discerned. The Church, if it is to be the church of CHRIST, must hear what the SPIRIT says to the churches.
