Psalms 50 and 51
Psalms 51: 3
My sin is ever before me.
At times the assurance of forgiveness and the renewed blessing of GOD do not come easily. A person who has experienced the joy of salvation and then falls into the depths of immorality may experience a prolonged time of repentance and spiritual struggle before receiving the assurance of pardon and a full restoration to GOD’s favour, David’s experience reveals how fearful it is to offend a holy GOD after having been so richly blessed by HIM.β
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Jeremiah 25: 15 β 38
Jeremiah 25: 30 β 38
The LORD has just ground of controversy with every nation and every person, and HE will execute judgment on all the wicked. Who can avoid trembling when GOD speaks in displeasure? The days are fully come; the time fixed in the Divine counsels, which will make the nations wholly desolate. The tender and delicate shall share the common calamity. Even those who used to live in peace, and did nothing to provoke, shall not escape. Blessed be GOD, there is a peaceable habitation above, for all the sons of peace. The LORD will preserve His church and all believers in all changes; for nothing can separate them from HIS love.

Pharisees…covetous.
The Pharisees regarded riches as a blessing from GOD for their faithful observance of the law. They sneered at JESUS, who was poor, for they regarded HIS poverty as a sign that GOD had not honoured HIM.
