PSALMS
🎼
Psalms 38 and 39
Psalms 39: 1 – 13
I will take heed to my ways.
This psalm continues the theme of Psalm 38 for the psalmist is still under severe chastisement of GOD. He realises that it is the LORD who is causing his suffering. I am consumed by the blow of THINE hand. He wants to know how long he will live and how long he must continue to suffer such direct punishment from GOD. He prays that he may not die separated from GOD and HIS mercy.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
Jeremiah 22: 20 – 23: 8
Jeremiah 23: 5 & 6
A righteous Branch.
The branch of David was cut off when GOD destroyed the Davidic monarchy in 586 B.C.

GOD did promise, however, to raise up a king from the line of David who would be a righteous Branch, this king would finally and fully do what was just about right. This prophecy points to the MESSIAH JESUS CHRIST.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝
Luke 13: 31 – 14: 11
Luke 13: 34
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem… How often would I have gathered thy children together?
The tears of our LORD and SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST over Jerusalem’s stubbornness bear witness to the freedom of the human will to resist the grace and will of GOD.
