PSALMS
πΌ
Psalms 6 β 9
Psalms 8: 5
With glory and honour.
This psalm expresses the amazing honour that GOD has bestowed upon humankind. It affirms that we as humans were created by GOD for a glorious purpose, we are perfectly humans, and we are not animals – the product of natural evolution and chance. So valuable are we to GOD that we are special objects of HIS concern and favour. HE has honoured us by choosing us to rule over HIS creation, yet the consciousness of our favoured position is no reason for praising ourselves, but a reason for giving thanks and glory to the Creator.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Jeremiah 14: 1 β 18
Jeremiah 14: 14β
The prophets prophesy lies.
GOD’s people must be aware that some prophets among them may prophesy lies and falsely claim to have received visions from the LORD, for this reason, all prophets must be tested according to Biblical standards.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Luke 9: 57 β 10: 10
Luke 10: 3
Lambs among wolves.
Believers who faithfully follow the will of GOD will be threatened by many dangers. They will be like defenceless lambs among wolves. Knowing this we must pray for GOD’s presence, protection and provision.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
