Psalms 34 and 35
Psalms 35: 17 β 28
Though the people of GOD are, and study to be, quiet, yet it has been common for their enemies to devise deceitful matters against them. David prays, My soul is in danger, LORD, rescue it; it belongs to Thee the Father of Spirits, therefore claim Thine own; it is Thine, save it! LORD, be not far from me as if I were a stranger. He who exalted the once suffering REDEEMER will appear for all HIS people: the roaring lion shall not destroy their souls, any more than he could that of CHRIST, β their Surety. They trust their souls in HIS hands, they are one with HIM by faith, are precious in HIS sight, and shall be rescued from destruction, that they may give thanks in heaven.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Deuteronomy 6: 1 β 25
Deuteronomy 6: 7
Teach them diligently unto thy children.
One key way to express love for GOD is to be concerned with the spiritual welfare of our children and to endeavour to bring them into a faithful relationship with GOD Spiritual instruction must be centered in a home with both father and mother.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Romans 5: 6 β 14
Romans 5: 10
Saved by HIS life.
The believer’s salvation lies in CHRIST’s blood and HIS resurrection life, whereby the believer is forgiven and reconciled to GOD. This experience is initial salvation. The believer continues to be saved by a living faith and union with the living CHRIST. If GOD loved us enough to send HIS SON to die for us while we were enemies, how much more, now that we are HIS children, HE will make every provision to save us from the wrath to come through our present faith in HIS SON.
