Psalms 66 and 67

Psalms 66: 8 – 12
The LORD not only preserves our temporal life, but maintains the spiritual life which he has given to believers. By afflictions we are proved, as silver in the fire. The troubles of the church will certainly end well. Through various conflicts and troubles, the slave of Satan escapes from his yoke, and obtains joy and peace in believing: through much tribulation the believer must enter into the kingdom of GOD.

OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
Lamentations 2: 9 – 22

Lamentations 2: 9
Find no vision from the LORD.
GOD was no longer communicating directly with His people, for sin had HIM to withdraw prophecies and visions. Likewise, under the new covenant, the HOLY SPIRIT may cease to manifest HIS gifts and miraculous powers through believers because of sin among GOD’s leaders and people. This kind of judgement is a sure indication that GOD’s people have departed from a lifestyle of seeking first GOD’s kingdom and righteousness. The only remedy is to turn from all compromise with sin, to seek GOD earnestly, and to pray for the restoration of HIS favour and kingdom power.

NEW TESTAMENT
✝️
2 Corinthians 2: 1 – 17

2 Corinthians 2: 14
Triumph in CHRIST.
Paul describes believers as being displayed by GOD to the world as a triumph and trophy of CHRIST’s redeeming grace. Through this triumphal procession, the knowledge of CHRIST and the redeemed lives of believers are manifested as a sweet fragrance before GOD and humans. To GOD it is pleasing, to humans it results in life or death.
