Psalms 15; 16 and 17
Psalms 17: 8
Keep me as the apple of the eye.
The psalmist uses two figures that recall GOD’s love and care for His faithful people. The apple of the eye is the pupil and is a Hebrew metaphor expressing something greatly valued and dear. The shadow of THY wings is a metaphor drawn from the imagery of a hen protecting her chicks under her wings, thus it expresses tender protection.
CHRIST used this metaphor to express His love for Israel. All believers should pray that GOD will reach out to protect us in times of danger just like someone who instinctively reacts to guard the pupil of the eye from harm.
OLD TESTAMENT
🌈
2 Chronicles 12: 1 – 16
2 Chronicles 12: 7
They have humbled themselves.
If we have sinned and are being punished for it, we should humble ourselves before GOD and confess that His judgements are righteous. The LORD will forgive our trespassers and restore us to HIS grace and favour, and He may even reduce the chastisement we must bear.

John 19: 12 – 30
John 19: 14
The Sixth hour.
John states that JESUS trial neared completion, about the sixth hour. Mark, however, says that JESUS was crucified at the third hour. This apparent contradiction is resolved if we understand that John used the Roman method of computing time, while Mark used the Palestinian method. The Roman day began at midnight, and the Palestinian day began at sunrise.

Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of world’s history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
