PSALMS
📓
Psalms 36 and 37
Psalms 38: 3
No soundness in my flesh.
The psalmist emphasizes two consequences of committing serious sin after knowing the LORD and having received HIS mercy — Divine anger and judgement.
The teaching that GOD always forgives and forgets sin without ever chastising the repentant believer is not a biblical teaching. A repentant sinner, even after experiencing GOD’s forgiveness, may experience for some time thereafter the temporal consequences of their forgiven sin, sometimes for years. Bodily pain and mental anguish Sin brings a heavy burden and suffering to the transgressor. GOD may allow severe sickness or even death as the result of our iniquity.
OLD TESTAMENT
📓
Deuteronomy 31: 9 – 23
Deuteronomy 31: 16
Will forsake me.
The LORD knew the Israelites’ history and their basic disposition toward unfaithfulness. Thus GOD prophetically revealed to Moses their future apostasy and HIS corresponding judgements. This prophecy was to be preserved in the form of a song as GOD’s warning to later generations.
NEW TESTAMENT
✝
Colossians 1: 13 – 29
Colossians 1: 20
Reconcile all things.
Humanity and everything in the universe are brought in unity and harmony under CHRIST. It does not mean, however, that all people are reconciled irrespective of their wills. The person who rejects CHRIST’s offer of reconciliation remains GOD’s enemy.

Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of world’s history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
