PSALMS

Psalms 62 to 65
Psalms 63: 2
To see THY power and THY glory….in the sanctuary.
Not only should we earnestly seek GOD’s presence in our personal lives, but we should also long for HIS SPIRIT, power and glory to be manifested in HIS house. We should pray for GOD to assert HIMSELF in power against satanic dominion, demonic oppression, sin, sickness and infirmities. We should fervently desire that the gospel might convict and save sinners, and sanctify them into the SPIRIT’s fullness.
OLD TESTAMENT
π
Malachi 3: 13 β 4: 6
Malachi 4: 6
Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children.
The future ministry of the coming prophet is described in terms of putting families right with GOD and each other, John the Baptist preached to this end. The one most responsible for accomplishing is the father of the family. Fathers must love their children by praying for them, spending time with them, pointing out the ungodly ways of the world, and diligently teaching them GOD’s Word and righteous standards.
Pastors must also make this goal of John the Baptist their own purpose for their ministry, thus preparing the church for the LORDβs coming.
NEW TESTAMENT
β
Philemon 1: 8 β 25
Philemon 1: 16
A brother beloved.
Slavery cannot exist among believers who have seen the truth of Christian brotherhood. Onesimus must no longer be treated as a slave, but as a fellow believer and dear brother, one who in GOD’s sight is equal with the apostle Paul and with Philemon.
Away in an obscure corner of Asia Minor, the greatest event of worldβs history had taken place: The advent of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Christian Church.
