Leave me not to mine oppressors.
Like the Psalmist says, GOD’s promises in HIS Word are sure. Believers may appeal for GOD’s help, based on obedience to and love for His Word, GOD’s mercy and steadfast love, our commitment to serve HIM and the urgent needs we have in our lives.

Turn their reproach upon their own head.
Nehemiah’s prayer against the enemy was motivated by his faith in GOD and his love for GOD’s work and people. It is always right to pray that GOD will oppose his enemies or turn back the hearts of those who are trying to destroy HIS work or harm HIS children.

The doctrine of Balaam.
Balaam was a false prophet who sold his services to a heathen king and advised home to tempt Israel to compromise their faith by idolatry and immorality. The teaching of Balaam therefore refers to corrupt teachers and preachers who were leading people into fatal compromise with immorality, worldliness and false ideologies, all for the sake of personal advancement or monetary gain.
