Sunday School

Our Sunday School is one of the many ministries of our church and has in its fold almost hundred children, twelve teachers and fourteen (youth) volunteers.

Place :  Parish Hall, St.John’s High School (adjacent to the Church)
Classes :  These are grouped as follows

We begin the day with a time of praising and worshipping God. Our lively and enthusiastic worship team leads us in singing Sunday School songs, hymns, and choruses. Praise and Worship are followed by a time of Devotion. Each teacher, by turn, leads the devotion. A Bible story is presented in the form of a skit, quiz, PowerPoint presentation, or a combination of some of these. After devotion and prayers, the children and teachers go to their respective classes.

Syllabus

We follow the “SPLASH” series published by the Christian Education department of Evangelical Fellowship of India (CEEFI). This Bible–the based curriculum is graded for different age groups.

Activities

During the course of the academic year, the children are encouraged to participate in class-wise competitions in a healthy spirit of camaraderie in order to use and nurture their God-given talents. Bible quiz, singing and painting competitions, and games are conducted. An annual assessment is held in March.

Additionally, Harvest Festival, inter-church celebrations for World Sunday School Sunday, Christmas Carol Service, Palm Sunday, and Easter celebrations are some more events during which our children and teachers play active roles.

The Sunday School Christmas program in December and Annual Day program in April are other major highlights in our Calendar.

The year culminates with the ten-day Vacation Bible School in the last week of April / first week of May.
